15 BIG Top Trends for Spring/Summer 2008

This spring is a time to embrace the new, the different, the exciting. Shake it up, it’s time for change!

(1) FLORALS - Designers are rattling the neutral outlook by offering bouquets to color your favorite dress or skirt or top. Flora of every size, shape and hue signal a hothouse explosion. Bloom, girl, bloom!

(2) BOLD GRAPHICS - You can go black - you can go brown - you can go white, but when you join the light and dark, be it in a bold print dress or high style spectator pumps - you can’t go wrong for 2008.

(3) PATENT LEATHER - Remember when Easter meant time for shiny black Mary Janes? Well patent isn’t just black anymore and not just for shoes. It’s handbags, belts, even jackets with that mirror finish.

(4) FULL SKIRTS - Flowered or striped, printed or plaid, they work for work (in the casual office) or for a picnic outside,. Just remember, full on the bottom needs a close-fitting top to strike right balance.

(5) RUFFLES & BOWS - Little girl looks with a pretty bow top or flirty little dress edged in soft ruffles.

(6) STRIPES - Horizontal stripes can be your hips’ worst enemy, so don’t put them there but a jaunty little jacket in red and white stripes or skimmers in pink and white will put a bounce in your step. Try ‘em.

(7) BELTS - Slung low on the hip, just below the chest or settled nicely right at your waist, belts continue to be the “it” accessory. They’re wide, narrow, basic & bright. Buckle one on, it’s a cinch!

(8) WEDGES - You get height, like a pump, but comfort like a flat. Well, more comfort than heels, and they are so right with everything casual from long skirts to short shorts.

(9) TRENCH COATS - Once worn in all their khaki splendor by spies and newsmen, TRENCH COATS are the chic-est way to breeze through cool spring days and night. Go green or pink or yellow and wear ‘em even when it’s hot outside. New trench coat dresses are all the rage.

(10) BANGLES - Pile ‘em on - the more the better. Like potato chips, can’t stop at one!

(11) A GREAT WHITE SHIRT - You know you need it. You know you wear it all the time. SO why stop at one. Crisp and tailored for day, sheer for night. A sweet dotted swiss, a simple wrap at waist.

(12) WIDE-LEG PANTS - Yearning for a little comfort without giving in to wearing your sweats all the time? These trousers will meet your need for ease and cater to your style. Wear with flat sandals.

(13) VESTS/JACKETS - Denim, linen, silk or cotton twill - these little wardrobe builders can go high-style or casual. The perfect new item to complete the perfect outfit. Just add a new topper.
